THE WEEKLY SABBATH IS NOT SATURDAY OR SUNDAY
Exodus 31:16Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
According to this above passage, there was only one calendar that was observed during the time when the Most High gave the Sabbath law to the children of Israel and that calendar is the Hebrew Lunar calendar that can be found in the bible. During the 40 year dessert occupation (after the Exodus), the Julian / Gregorian calendar did not exist, neither did the word Saturday or
Sunday. The Months in the Hebrew calendar began in spring and each month constitutes a new crescent moon as the beginning of the month, which can be sighted low on the horizon at sunset.
Within this website, information will be provided on how the 7th day Sabbath was kept in ancient Israel with supported scripture and valid historical facts. Also I will explain in detail the origin of other calendars, that were during the period of the Israelites in Babylonian captivity and after upon the Israelites, returning to Judah from Babylon.
